What
Type of Business Should I Start?
If working from home is what you wish to do? Then
there are many different types of businesses you can start. Here are
just a few of them.
Making $1500.00 Extra a Month!
Starting a weekend garage/yard sale! It’s
best to live either on a busy corner or be near a commercial area!
These locations will bring you the highest amount of traffic! Which is
what you will need to make your sales. Also, you must advertise in your
local newspaper and post signs at a nearby super mart. When advertising
I would run the ads on a Sunday, at least (1) one week in advance of
the sale. The advertising will probably be your only expense?
Cleaning out your garage and your home will
not bring enough items for you to sale each week. Therefore you will
need to collect more! Ask your family and friends if they have anything
that they would like to give you? Of course, getting the items for free
will give you your most profit!
Another way to obtain items is to go to
other yard sales at the end of the day. They may still have items that
they did not sell. You could then offer them a low price for the
remaining items. Make sure to offer a very low price! You will need to
price all the items in your head before offering the seller a price for
them. Come up with a price where you can turn around and sell them at a
profit next week at your yard sell!
Sometimes you can pickup reasonable items
at thrift shops and sell them at your yard sale? But, this will take
experience. Something you might want to keep in mind after being in
business down the road.

$300.00 or More Per Day!
Start your own "Home Remodeling and Repair business!"
If you have any knowledge or experience
with handyman work this can be a very profitable business! Working
right out of your home. The garage can be your workshop. Use the tools
in your garage and buy what ever else you may need? Now you won’t need
every single tool ever made. Just play it by ear! If you get a job and
don’t have a particular tool, then go out and buy it! You can buy it
used at a pawnshop or a used tool store. You'll also find good deals on
used tools in your local paper. Tools will be your biggest expenses.
Advertising will be the next big expense.
Advertise in the classified section of your
local newspaper. Make sure to state the different types of work you
perform in the ad! You won't need to list everything. Just list the
repairs that are most in demand! Like "Plumbing, Painting, and
Electrical." Also, make sure to offer "Free Estimates"! By doing this
you will be able to get on the job site and give your new customer a
price for the job! And probably start that day!
The next best way to get customers is "word
of mouth"! Usually a friend of a friend makes a call looking for a
handyman referral. Next thing you know, they are calling you over to
give them an estimate on a repair at their home. Get the word out to
your own family and friends and see if they know anyone in need of
repair work? Your first job could come from one of them?
If you come across a repair/remodel job you
have not performed before, just go to the library and check-out a book
on the subject. Study up on it and see if it's something you would be
comfortable doing? You can also find books and get information from
your local hardware store or Home Depot store.
Depending on the city your working in, you
will need to look into getting a license? Find out the requirements
before you perform any work!

Make $1,000.00 Cleaning-up Part Time!
Do you know how to sweep or mope a floor?
Starting your own Janitorial Business might just be for you! This type
of business would also include window washing at office buildings and
stores. There's a lot of money to made in maintaining the cleanliness
of a building! Businesses want to present a nice clean environment for
their customers!
You could have some flyers printed up and
then stop by the stores and office buildings and drop them off. Usually
at a office building you will need to locate the "office of the
building" suite. They are the on-site managers of the building. Ask to
speak with the person in charge of maintenance contracts. Also, don’t
forget to advertise in your local newspaper under services section.
You can purchase the proper equipment at
any janitorial store in your neighborhood. At the beginning just pickup
the tools you need to do the job. If a customer ask you, do you have
the equipment for the job? You tell them yes! If you don’t have it just
go out and rent it or buy it! If it’s one time job and the equipment is
expensive, then go out and rent it! Also, the best vehicle to use for
this type of work is either a van or a truck.
You may not know how to clean a certain
spot or use the proper conditioner. Just call you local janitorial
store where you do all your business. They would be more then happy to
help answer any of your questions! They will also give demonstrations
of operating the different types of janitorial equipment. As you build
your business, you will become familiar with all types of cleansers and
equipment.
